Eyecandy Lounge

eyecandy1

For a no hassle line free close to nightclub experience, eyecandy is one of the better casual lounges. Dj was weak at best, but most of the music was good. LED lit dance floor was cool and the touch sensitive LCD screens as table tops was a nice touch, but they did nothing impressive. All in all a great time.

NAB Las Vegas 2010

what we all really want in our living room

National Association of Broadcasters Convention.
Las Vegas 2010

My first year to NAB, not a whole lot there for end users, but some really cool technology just the same. They are going to drive 3D down our throats whether we want it or not, and i think that’s going to die until they can do it without glasses and headaches.

Gimp 2 Finaly getting it right

gimpfi

Gimp 2 is out and done right!

The biggest surprise this week was the install of Gimp2, always been a weak Photoshop replacement, but this time around they got it right, I have been working with it all week and have not even opened Photoshop once. It has just enough easy to use filters for editing your Facebook photos, but also good enough and in some ways better than Photoshop for doing actual graphics work, this one is going to give Photoshop a real run for the money, or at least reduce the pirating of Photoshop. :)

Ubuntu 10.04 Released

lucidlynx2

Ubuntu 10.04 is out and better than ever!

This week Ubuntu linux 10.04 is out, its amazing. with super fast boot up times and flawless install, its really the best one yet. the only problem here and not an ubuntu problem, I was not able to stream Netflix, since it uses silverlight, which is ironic since Netflix dumps so much money into advertising in the tech world, but doesn’t really give the market their targeting what they need. I think its time for Netflix to adopt HTML5, that would give it the push it needs to get out there in the community, and there would be no plug-ins to install and platform independent.
